LANDSCAPE WITH PHEASANT,
HARE AND DOE

“A material is fragile if, when subjected to stress,
it fractures with little elastic deformation and
without significant plastic deformation. Brittle materials absorb relatively little energy prior to fracture, even those of high strength. Breaking
is often accompanied by a sharp snapping sound.”

Conceived as an unbearably nostalgic poem about fragility, the performance takes audience into a peculiar world in which three boys try to create a natural scenery—like a diorama they know from a natural history museum, or maybe more like the landscape from Red Dead Redemption. Rocks, sticks, and trees fill a gradually changing environment. It starts to rain, a rainbow appears on the horizon. But everything here is artificial. Natures mortes. Everything is fragile, easily crumbling away. Set against a heroic landscape, the three troubadours will make one last attempt to face the ruthless, rude world, or they vanish for good. The performance includes elements of a country concert, visual installation, and theatre.
