LANDSCAPE WITH PHEASANT, HARE AND DOE
There is no mercy in things, in the landscape with pheasant, hare and doe. There is not even great beyond. There is nothing.
Conceived as an unbearably nostalgic poem about fragility, the performance takes the audience into a peculiar world in which three boys attempt to create
a natural scenery — like a diorama they know from a natural history museum,
or maybe more like the landscape from Red Dead Redemption. Rocks, sticks, and trees fill a gradually changing environment. It starts to rain, a rainbow appears on the horizon. But it’s all artificial. Natures mortes. Everything is fragile, easily crumbling away. Set against a heroic landscape, the three troubadours will make one last attempt to face the ruthless, rude world, or they vanish for good. The performance fuses elements of a folk concert, visual installation, and theatre.
"Despite its deliberate slowness and dream-like nature, the show always comes up with intriguing images that can surprise and shift our perspective.”
